Frontex: A Gendarmerie of the EU or just a Border Assistance?
Netopil, Petr ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bahenský, Vojtěch (referee)
This research focuses on the Civil-Security Relations between the EU and its border agency, FRONTEX. Relationships between the state and its border guards vary wildly in space and time in terms of the level of militarization, which is why this thesis set out to define the situation of the EU's first uniformed and armed service. A single case study was used, as FRONTEX as a transnational border agency is a deviant case. This research creates a typology of security services within the state and then places FRONTEX within it. In the discussion that follows, the relationship between the EU and FRONTEX seems to be matched best by the relationship between a state and its gendarmerie, though the police force is also very close. Furthermore, there are exceptions where the agency behaves more like an army or a civilian service. In terms of real-world analogues, it tracks most closely the relationships between the Baltic states, Finland, Poland, and their respective border guards.

The goal of this thesis is to do research , as wide as possible, in the most popular part of hobby named reenacting or reenacting (Napoleonic era, Austro-Prussian Wars, American Civil War, Second World War and some new topic - Czechoslovak Peoples Army, Royal Air Force and Czechoslovak Policemen before WW2). Thats mean commemoration and re-enactment of military history and military units in whole its history from time before 1989 to the future. I tried to find grounds of this hobby and describe development of it. As I expected, progress of this hobby or movement is larger, but this hobby existed before 1989 too. Reenactors reenacted and portrayed older conflicts as Napoleonic and Austro-Prussian war. Future reenactors were mainly fencers and tramps. Year 1989 was turning point for all reenactors. Theirs hobby is legal, it is possible to travel, to unite, to ground living history groups, own weapons, speak about all part of our history. It was possible to share and search information, regulation with and in foreign countries, foreigners and archives and museums. Main goal of reenactors is to portray theirs archetypes as good as possible. Public can see not only reconstruction of battles, but open air exhibition - "very interactive museums". This thesis can't be described as "Complete, all history of...

Jindra, Ondřej ; Soukup, Ladislav (advisor) ; Šouša, Jiří (referee)
During the study of the documents on the establishment and protection of the state border of Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, I have based myself on the literature and legal regulations in force and effective at the time of their use. I then drew indispensable information during consultations with my thesis supervisor. This thesis deals with the original control bodies of the past centuries that patrolled the borders, as well as the armed corps - the Financial Guard. It was established during the Austrian monarchy and continued its activities after the establishment of Czechoslovakia. The current borders of the Czech Republic are based on historical sources to which the Czechoslovak government referred when the Czechoslovak Republic was founded. Thanks to these efforts, we have the state borders as we know them today. However, the establishment of these borders was not at all easy, and at the very beginning of its existence Czechoslovakia had to make a military effort to maintain its borders. The greatest surveillance and protection of the borders took place during the 1930s, when the Czechoslovak Republic was preparing for a war conflict, which ultimately did not take place. The most important position was held by the Financial Guard, which in the event of a military conflict was...

The history of the gendarmerie and the police, their role in the society and the integration of this consituent into the integral rescue and emergency control
NOVÁK, Petr
In my bachelor paper I pointed at the evolution of the police and the gendarmerie and part work of the police at the time of solving an emergency situation, including the necessity of coordination with other components, which ended in the establishment of the integrated rescue system and the crises management. The Police of the Czech Republic are controlled by the law no. 283/1991 Sb., about the Police of the Czech Republic as an armed security brigade of the Czech Republic. As the executive body of the state power it fulfils its specific function at order protection, safety of citizens and safety of either private or public possession. In respect of its structure and organization and continuous emergency it is fated to fulfilling its responsible tasks of the safety part also at the time of emergency situations. The preparation and the way of security of the public order and the safety from the side of the Police of the Czech Republic during an emergency situation are one of the important tasks. It is possible to manage it preferably thanks to a responsible attitude, the region orientation, foreknowledge of the emergency situation, right interpretation, perfect cooperation, quick monitoring of the situation, a well-timed and purposeful start-up of strength and resource to prevent a public order and safety nuisance. In the bachelor paper there was documented the process of the Police during a tactic training ``Winter stadium 2006{\crqq}, during a training convocation of policemen and a survey among policemen was made in a form of a questionnaire. Among the interfering men, it means also among policemen, there must be created reasonable law environment in the sphere of the crises management as well as IZS and there must be a modern and effective technique available. Due to the bachelor paper it was proved that the assessed hypothesis was confirmed, since the establishment of IZS and the crises management and incorporation of the Police into the system is a unique contribution for its function during the preparation for emergency situations and during the implementation of rescue and cleanup work.
